What MCP is, in two lines

The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard that lets AI tools (like Claude or ChatGPT) securely connect to an external data source. Instead of copy-pasting, the assistant queries the source directly. LOCRAI exposes your documents as one of those sources: your AI can "see" and read them.

What changes for you

No reports to build by hand, no clicking through screens, no integration to code. Open your assistant and ask. The answers aren't made up: they're grounded in the data LOCRAI actually extracted and validated.

A few examples of what you can ask:

• How many documents did I receive from Rossi Srl in September, and what's the total?
• Find document 1352 and show me the line items with totals.
• List the documents still pending review this week.
• Put number, date, counterpart and total of my last 20 documents into a table.

The assistant turns your request into queries over your documents and gives you the answer, ready to read or paste wherever you need it.

Security and control

Exposing your documents to an AI is a choice that must stay under your control. That's why MCP access is built for trust:

• Read-only: the AI can consult and analyze, never modify or act on your documents.
• Scoped to your company: every request only ever sees your organization's documents, never anyone else's.
• Explicit consent: you authorize the connection, with a consent step in your dashboard.
• EU infrastructure: your data stays handled in line with GDPR.

Pure extractors stop at the data. LOCRAI is the layer that sits in front of your ERPs and in front of your AI: it doesn't just turn documents into data, it makes that data conversational.

Getting started

MCP access is available on the Professional and Enterprise plans. In three steps: enable it from the Integrations section of the dashboard, create a read-only key (or authorize your tool via login), and point your assistant at LOCRAI's MCP server address. From there, just ask.

A note of honesty: answer quality reflects extraction quality — which is where LOCRAI shines, especially on precise values like supplier, document number or amount. Today MCP is read-only: ideal for querying and analysis, while actions and writes stay on their dedicated channels.
